It's good to see a PY member getting some media coverage. Did anyone else notice in the What's New for 2004 April 9th Issue that John Bailey and his 9 sec FB had his picture published? Congrats to the race team and sponsors.

It's the same pic that John uses in his AVATAR.

Text from the "blurb" (too short to be an article) reads as follows:

"John Bailey of Claymont, Del., shook down his Bracket 1 '91 Firebird late last year and went to the semi-finals in his first time in the quick bracket. Ed Quay built the chassis to Stock eliminator specs. The 477-CID Pontiac engine has an Indian Adventures block, Wenzler Series II cylinder heads, and B.O.P. camshaft, belt drive, distributor, and water pump. Nunzi's Automotive provided valuable help, as did Neil and Brad at N.O.P.E. Jim Hostler built the TH400 transmission. In street legal trim, the car has run 9.19 @ 147 MPH."

Boy I can remember the days when John used to come down to Cecil with his 74 GTO running 11.50's! Now look at him! Congrats to the GTOKID John Bailey and hats off to Neil Owens, Jim Hostler, Ed Quay race cars and all else who had a hand in the car! Now that you have yours rolling good John I'm bringing mine over so you can start on it LOL! D. Miles

Thanks to all...It took a LONG time to put this deal together.Every thing was looking good for this yr. We had a major set back In FL when we lost a Valve seat and took out most of the Motor. Nunzi was the frist to offer his Help with Parts to get it back together. I am sure BOP and Larry Wenzler will lend a hand as well. I am working very hard both on and off the track to make my dream of a competive Heads up Pontiac powered Street car. The sadest part of the FL trip was the loss of the family Dog. We had a really tuff trip but THAT was almost too much to take. I want to thanks Pontiac Dude and Ray Cox They really helped me out at the track. Ken redid the heads on my Dads Van and Now its running better than NEW!!! I am proud to be one of the die hard Pontiac guys...and its great when we can help each other out. Thanks again to all!!! see you at the races, John
