Bad thing is, the dream will only last until my wife gets home and demands her garage spot back!

You need to dream bigger. Here's mine. 40X60 with 12' walls. Just finished friday.

That's awesome! Did you think to put some sleeping quarters out there for when your wife boots you?

Great looking garage. Was it a kit or did you build it from plans. I have been looking for a good set of plan to build one for me. Do you have a 2nd story or is it all 12 ft and more inside?

All I need to see is a lift in one of those garages and I am in heaven.

WariarGTO, nice garage! I used to live in Brentwood, on dalton Rd., but the winters drove me to Tucson. Now your task is to fill the place with GTO's!

Thanks Guys. I felt bad stepping on your post Pecos, but the topic title caught my eye, especially since my building was just completed. I'm very pleased with how it turned out. There actually is a queen sized bed now tucked in the rafters(required standing on the ROOF of my lifted '71 Chevy 4X4 with 38" tires to get up there! That was fun...). It will have a lift installed before the end of the year. Al, I drew up the original design plans in Autocad myself. The building was custom built by a contractor I hired, the same crew who built my last shop at my old house across town. I had a pontiac racing buddy of mine do the site work, and another guy do just the concrete work. Then I brought in the builders and told them basically 60'X40' with 12' walls, one entry, and 3 overhead doors. The walls actually come in at just under 12' using a 10' stud and 12" of concrete wall up from the floor. The trusses were pre-fabbed and delivered. I now have 8 cars moved in settling in quite nicely. It's filling up fast. Decco, this building is located at the very end of Rowell road if you remember where that is. Out past the horse farms, through the apple orchard, situated on the top of the hill that runs down to the Exeter river.

Don't worry about using this post...in fact, we should have a separate listing for folks to post pics of their garages. (My post was really for the cars, not the garage.) Now if I could just find a good size piece of property that would accomodate a large building like yours, and then convince the wife we needed to move......?
