Hi there, slgenge. I'm currently in Lake of the Ozarks, Mo. doing some boating and water skiiing, etc. I don't have my manuals with me, but if the hood tach wiring is similar to the dash tach, there is a light connection, a connection to the distributor side of the coil, and ground.
Sorry about that, perhaps another member can help with more info until I get back. George
