My 67 goat has been sitting for a few months and havent had any luck tracking down the no spark problem.
Replaced the points(single point ignition), replaced the coil, swapped out the ignition switch, no luck. Shorted the coil lead to see how much spark and all it would do was a few small sparks the first second of hitting the ignition switch and then nothing. what next? One thing I did notice was the points I replaced were burned quite a bit for having only 30 or 40 miles, is there something else I need to look at? Thanks all, Rob |

Burned points in those few miles would be too small of a gap (should be .019" I believe), bad capacitor (condenser), or someone replaced the resistor wire with a plain copper wire (which is fine; you are already set up for HEI if that's the case.) Fix the points first, then check other stuff if the problem persits.
