The cast iron cross over on 1972 intakes is suppose to be incased in a metal heat shield and then rivited to the aluminum intake so its not removable.

I don't think the 1972 heatshield or cross over is being reproduced. The 1971 version is. It should work, but won't be 100% correct.

The 1972 choke spring and housing is different. The 1972 was made to sit on a flat machined pad on the cross over instead of the "well" that 1971 used. The 1972 version was suppose to pull the choke off faster for less emissions.
