A manufactureer is in the R&D process on a new Pontiac intake manifold for use on mild to highly modified Pontiac engines. The manifold is to be manufactured in state-of-the-art process that eliminates core shift providing a highly finished product. The manifold will

flow enough to feed 300 CFM heads out of the box.
have port dimensions that eliminate the need for extensive runner and plenum work.
have high velocity runners
have no exhaust cross over for a cool intake charge.
fit the standard 4150 flange and dominator flange.
...and it will fit under the stock hood![/list] Please provide your input as further encouragement to the manufacturer. You would expect/be willing to pay?

It would pretty much have to be a single plane design. What about a 4150 base?

If its like a Nash/Warrior, you could get $350.00, but with Victor square or Dom intake commonly stocked. $300.00 is going to be the parallel price.

To answer a few questions....

The manifold will be single plane
Will fit under a 2nd gen Firebird hood (and that means it will fit under every other model's hood)
It will be for a 4150 and 4500 (and maybe a q-jet but not certain yet)
May also have pads for injectors/nozzels

Sounds great! How about a single plane tri-power intake? Infact, how about a single plane tri-power intake that takes the chevy/mopar holley two barrells, that would be insane!

Will fit under a 2nd gen 'bird,.....
So is this basically going to be a refined Torker 2 type of intake? Maybe with runner walls that extend to the plenum cavity?

What we need is something like a Street Dominator! Not a Torker 2. Hell yeah a totaly done up Street Dominator. That would be way cool

My thoughts exactly, Larry N.
Injector nozzle bungs would be worth another $50.00 for sure! Will the water crossover be seperated?

Yep...a Tri-Power that would really enable power and performance would be nice but I think they are looking to serve a broader market, that of a single.
The input is great...I will push for the nozzel pads. A primary goal is that you would not have to do runner and plenum work on the intake, thus saving some good dollars for other items.

Under $300 would be good with pads for injectors or Nitrous great.
All the other major brands of engines have these feature for under $300. Hope it comes to pass. |

Other brands do not charge $300 for a Victor!!!

Given the volume of Pontiac business, I do not think they will come in below $300. Now maybe if they could sell 10,000 units it would happen...
