What plug gap can/should I use with electronic ignition? I have a '66 389 w/4 BBL, Mallory Unilite ignition, 44s plugs and 11:1 CR. Thanks for help.

1970 400/6X heads/MSD hei distributor and a 6AL box/AC Delco 45ts plugs set @ .45. I've tried them at .50 and I personally think mine work better at .45. I tried Autolites and went back to AC's.

Mallory Unilite is not a high energy ignition system.Use the factory settings,.035".
Can´t imagine what kind of system that would ignite a .45" gap :-) |

I had my plugs gapped at .050 with the Blaster II and MSD6AL. Talk about a flame thrower. It was like snappy lightning.

Hey Super, I'm running the same setup but seems to run run better for me at .45. Your probably running a bigger cam.

Motor seems to like .045 with MSD unit and AC plugs. You can try a couple of different ranges till your plugs fire the way you want them to. Watch the color of the plug as you change the gap to see which one burns the best.
