" We plan to pour alum. blocks in the fall if there is a demand. We need to have 15 deposits to make it worth our time to do this. We have a list of people that we will start to call on soon that want an aluminum product. You can trust that we will put the same quality in that product as we are doing in the IA II block. We hope to have one soon."

Apology accepted. Ray. I never stated anything about the registering of the mains????? I just stated that we are a distributor along with MRE and Spotts performance. Are you having trouble 'Reading' along with Spelling too ???? It's not my place to state facts about the block. I was told back when they first started development from Bob, that if they want info out they will post it. Was told not to state certain things two. Knew alot of info, but when your told to wait as they wanted to make sure it was a done deal.............. I respect their space. As a matter of Fact, I told you on the phone 2 weeks ago about it for your future engine combo for next year. Apology accepted. 9scond70GP; Have had a lot of stuff happen over the last 2 months with weather, servers and no electric for days at a time to get mail on the net. Currently without power at the house going on 24 hrs now and don't know when it will be back. Got hit hard again at the house. Re-email me at the work mail [email protected] and will get something done. Never one to turn work away. Currently building 2 Big Cube IA 2 Street combo's. |

Currently without power at the house going on 24 hrs now and don't know when it will be back. Got hit hard again at the house.” “LOL!, Ken. Hey Tom I think: ” First off, as you can see Ken is having a bad day/days/week/ month with all of the bad weather. He had damage to his house/vehicle I believe and has no power with another storm on the way. How can you be in a “sparring mood” without being testy with that kind of stuff going on. The original statement was meant as a joke with the world revolving around Ken (as in Hurricanes revolving around Ken’s address like the Black Cloud that used to follow the guy around on a sunny day). As far as the ego goes, Ken and I are both Type A people. Put it on the table and measure kind of guys. Why he and I get along so well off the board. What he says it true though, all knowledge comes from what you have read, what you have seen, what you have done, who you know, what they know, your racing experience in one or several types of racing, (and what it takes to win in each one), etc. I am fortunate to have had access to many types of racing, access to smart people inside and outside the industry, and be paid by a large corporation to do boosting work. (I will not mention the name as it offends George to mention the brand x company on a PONTIAC board. As far as “be littleing” people, I have lots of people send me e-mails, I try and answer each one accurately, to the best of my abilities. On this board, I tend to be more kidding as I know a number of the people on the board now personally. If I have “be littled” anyone I am sorry for that and did not do it knowingly. (If the “be littling” was from the response I made on the 6 second mod motor where I asked Brian to post his BS meter, I guess I am at fault). George, As far as Ken being your HERO, I can understand that as Kenny is a big man compared to you. I had some jabs with him before you started posting and he and I met face to face and worked them out. You on the other hand just like to hide behind the computer and take shots at me when you can by tagging on to others posts. Obviously you are not a Type A person. Ventura7211, You posted a cute response. Kenny would never “Bitch Slap” anyone as he is too much of a man to use an open hand on someone. Kenny is more of the shot to the belly type of a guy. You can post all the funny deals you want and people will laugh but that will not affect the respect I have for Ken, or Ray, or Jack, or Brian, etc, etc. OK KEN I APOLOGIZE! What was the first one? Tom V.

It was a joke Tom, I'm sure readers laughed. Now I didn't get all pissy about the pic that was posted my way, actually I thought it was obvious it was 1/8th time but I guess if it was in question a simple "was that in the 1/8th" would have been more reasonable before trying to say it was all false. Not worried about it.
As far as " be littleing" people, in the same post you suggested Ken needed a small suspension shop from the midwest to tell him how to get the f-2 gimic to work so.... I'm not trying to affect your respect either, really you guys are too soft on each other compared to my friends but its all joking around in good fun so.... Hey Ken, screw the F-2, put a F-3 on that bird then use the grill to funnel air to it. The F-3 sounds weird idleing. |

Be BIG or be little, just don't "belittle". I'm actually learning how to spell better being on this forum. Keep up the good (bad) work.

I have dealt with the "Modular Mafia" for a few years (Their modular is better than a pushrod motor, according to them) and admit to being a little sensitive in that area as far as the perf of the Mod engine goes. Notice not once did I say the Brand X word. The B slap was funny though. The supercharger pic you posted is great! Have any more you could e-mail me for lectures? As far as saying Kenny should go to a guy in the mid west for chassis work, I wish I could afford Bickle's time. Not "Be Littleing anyone intentionally, unless it was George! LOL! George is alright too in my book, just he never gave me a chance to know him. Ray is right as usual. Kenny is upset from the hurricanes, I take jokes badly, and Ray can't spell. LOL! Good night Mrs Calibash! Tom V.

Gee, I hate to get this post off topic or anything, but how much weight does an aluminum block save?

Dog, I think it saves 125lbs. I could save that much by going to Jenny Craig-LOL.-Jim

The aluminum block will save you ~80 pounds over a factory iron block and ~120 pounds over a standard deck IA iron block.

Aluminum blocks do weigh in around 1/2 of a cast iron block 120 lbs. You still have cast iron cylinder sleeves, steel main caps, ARP Main cap bolts; steel cam bearings and bronze lifter guides. A IA II weighs in around the same as a Hard Block filled 455 with Steel main caps and lifter bore brace @245 lbs.

Ok, Here is what I know about Butler's new Aluminum block. according to this article it saves 125lbs over the IA. HOWEVER, a stock, bare, cast iron 455 block only weighs 185 lbs, so it looks like it saves 60lbs.Aluminum Block -JimT

We will make a pricing anouncement on the Aluminum soon.
