I don't know much about rear ends and need a question answered.

If I get on the gas in drive the passenger tire spins and leaves a patch, but yesterday I was backing into the driveway and had to get on the gas to get over the curb and the drivers side tire was the one spinning. Is this a standard rear because I thought only limited slip differentials switched the drive tire when backing up?

That's an open rear.

Yup, open rear. The torque reaction of the chassis and drivetrain went 'into reverse' when you put the tranny in reverse.

You're excused.

Let's go racing!
