I need help, I was looking for a fan shroud for my 64 catalina, I was wondering if the 1964 impala used the same one, because that the only one i can find that i feel should fit the car since they look similar. I really don't even know how it should look. 1964 Catalina 389 motor thank u

The Chevorlet one will not work!
Pontiac's are VERY different.
63-64 should use the same one.
I most likely have a couple lying around.

Usually I'm found working on my Pontiac. If you want to find me Look for the white picket fence and all the old Pontiacs parked outside. And the half dissembled engine sprawled all over the driveway!

Just a note, I also have a 64 with the fan shroud. They came on A/C cars and usually had the fan clutch as part of the package. non air cars just had the Radiator hold down plate saying caution fan.

I don't know about the non-AC cars not having fan shrouds. My '64 GP is non-AC and it came with the fan shroud and the 4 blade clutchless fan

It sound then, that they put the shrouds on the cars that needed the heavy duty cooling. Such as the 421 cars and some of the "Premium" fuel cars. I was just going by what I had in the back yard and I've had a few 63 & 64's through here. I know the Air cars got them for sure. My 64 Grand Prix that I will be getting rid of (body parts only) had the 303 hp 389 with the double pulley setup on it. Water pump, power steering, crank and Alternator all had double belts. All the others had single belts running the accessories. !?!
