How many splines would be on my axles and pinion on my 69 gto 3.23 open rear end? I want to start collecting parts to upgrade my 10 bolt to a 3:55 or 3:73 posi but this is one question I don't know. I'd prefer not to take the differential apart until the change over. Is there a standard that was used?

Stock Rear? should be 28 Spline.

Would that be 28 splines on the axles and pinion? There is a master rebuild kit on ebay for BOP 10 bolts but it says something about 27 splines. Could the axles be 28 and pinion be 27?

Don't know if you are interested or not, but I build 8.5 rear ends for that model car. the only thing that needs to be done is shorten the driveshaft 1 inch. I live in Plano if you might be interested.

Yes, 28 spline on axle and 27 spline on pinion.
