This is weird...I'm not even sure I can explain it in writing...but here goes:
On my 66 GTO, the turn signal dash indicator light is just one slightly yellowish light with green diagonal sort of slash cut ends. You know what I mean? Looks sorta like this:
(/ /)
Well, the other night while driving, I signalled for a lane change and noticed the two little green bars weren't there...just the yellowish light! So I pulled over and just tapped with my finger on the dash above the light a couple of times and the green bars came back a little bit with every tap! Then..I continued tapping and they came back all the way...I kept tapping...and I could make them disappear again!
So..I just tapped a little more until they came back to where they are supposed to be and left it at that. (I also notice my non-working temp gauge would jump a little too with the tapping.) Weird...is there a ground at that location? What are those little green bars anyway,,,some sort of screen inside the light?
Anyone? I'll post this in the 66-67 GTO section as well.

It sounds like the cardboard tube that the light is in is just sliding back and forth. this tube prevents the turn indicater light from illuminating the rest of the cluster. As far as the temp gauge moving, these gauges have very light springs on the needles. any such tapping should or would jar the gauge just enough to move the needle.
