I believe I've found the cam I want to switch to for my 428 for next season. Please tell me what you think. Compression is 9.8:1,will adjust to 10.0:1 .Gear will be 4.10 w/spool, 28" tall slicks. Converter is 3000/10". Cam is 262/270 @ .050. lift is .582 LS is 110, CL is 104.
Anyone using a similar grind? I'll be stepping up in carb/manifold airlow, and getting my ported #62's flow tested. Any thoughts?

Sir,

with your 3000 converter, the car won't get out of its own way in the 60 Foot. That cam is one of our UltraDyne rollers. It is a good piece, but very big for you. Try our TR109/TR111 R8
It has 623 lift, is a .014 lash, is 18 degrees smaller at .020 than your pick, but it is only 2 degrees smaller at 200. That means that it will make insane torque compared to your choice. CUe to it having just as much high lift area, it will also be just as strong on the top. THis cam is great at 3000 and a blast with a 4000 stall, but works good with a 3000 too. It will still run to 7000. Let me know if you like that, and I will get one to you. As for the LSA being on a 108, you need to realize that with your rod/stroke ratio, the 108 will be a much better accelerating LSA over the 110. It will also meake more cylinder pressure. You'd be surprised too that it won't be near as peaky as you would think. I also have a 276/284 with 243/251 and 582 lift because it is the same family as the 295/303 that you chose. These two cams are a little gentler than the one I suggested, but don't have the high lift area and there fore as wide of a power band.

Thanks for the informative reply. I'm currently running an Ultradyne 288/296 solid (F8?). I'm VERY happy with that cam, but thought a roller a bit bigger would help me achieve my goal of 10.50's on the motor. One of the reasons I'm looking at Lunati is because I heard the man that ran Ultradyne went to Lunati. (Harold?)

keep the cam get a 8 in ATI converter you should already run 10.50's unless you have something else wrong...
