Is ther any way to tell from the vin # if a car was a Formula 400 ??? I have found a nice 1977 Firebird that the guy says is an original Formula car but does not have the correct hood.He wants $2k for it which does not seem bad.It has a very solid body and rebuilt 400 in it (XF) code. Thanks

The 4th 0r 5th digit shoud be a Z meaning a 400.
Post your vin and I can decipher it for you.

Also, the 2nd digit in the VIN should be a U if it is a genuine Formula.
