FYI! I compared the instrument gage cluster wire connector pinout differences between the standard gage cluster and the U30 gage cluster and came up with the following. The green boxes are the same and the reds are different. The terminals can easily be removed from the connector and rearranged to create a U30 harness from a Standard or visa versa. When going to a U30 setup you will have to add a second pink with two black stripe wire. Just splice it into the existing pink with two black stripe wire. No need to spend $400 for a new harness.

And this one's for the U30. Don't forget that you have to replace on/off oil pressure and temperature switches with variable sending units.

Wow. Those diagrams are great. I don't know how many times I've seen posts from someone trying to change from stock to rally gauges with no idea how to do it besides just buying a whole new underdash harness. You probably just saved people hundreds of dollars.

Thanks guys! I did notice one wire not labeled correctly in both charts above. The LH Turn Signal Single light blue wire is actually a DOUBLE light blue wire. I've corrected it on my copy but I can't change the ones that are already posted above.

This all came about when I bought stacked gages for my 1969 TA. I thought you needed the "stacked gage" dash harness and the "standard" one wouldn't work with out extensive modification. I sat down and studied the differnces in the printed circuit boards and found that the only differences where those listed above. Later, I received my PHS documentation and found out my car didn't have the Stacked gages so I put them on a shelf with the hopes that I'd be able to trade them for parts later. Well, I ended up selling the stacked gages on e-bay to a respected member of this board and promised him that I would send him the details of exactly how I changed my dash harness to work with the stacked gage cluster. Rather than e-mailing him a copy of the pinout, I decided to post it on the board for all to see. My hope is that others won't waste money buying and waiting for a harness when theirs' might work.

Note: I pulled a picture of a safeguard (speed minder or whatever you want to call it) gage cluster off e-bay and the pin outs for it are exactly the same as the "standard gages"

As I said before, I don't have a good shot of the back side of a Gage cluter setup to create a pinout for it. If anyone has some good photos, past them and I'll create them as well.

I used Microsoft Visio to do the pinout charts as it is fast and free (thanks to my employer). I was going to modeled it in Pro/E and show the entire dash and wires but didn't have enough free time. I am still planning to model the 1969 TA formula wheel horn button and get the prove design guys to make me a stereolithography model of it.

I haven't had a chance to compare the pinouts with a 67-68.

Mope the TA is not even close to being finished. We're expecting again in January so it most likely be pushed out a while longer.
