I believe these were the years with the 5.7 Vette engine. What are common problems with these cars and things to check or avoid?

well I found a GTA page and got some info. I learned that all years could have the 5.7. When I was looking for ones for sale, I NEVER saw a 90 or newer GTA with a 5.7 for sale?? At least I learned ) Still what are the common problems?

i had a 89 gta and it had a problem with the head lights/starting. when i would hit a bump the headlights would flicker. and once in a great while for some reason it wouldnt start for anything. i would still have juice for headlights, power windows, radio, everything. but wouldnt even try to crank over. then im driving on the interstate and the tranny wouldnt shift so im doing 60-65 @ 4000/4500 rpm. ended up taking out the motor also. and it only done low/mid 14's at the track. if you want one that has a brand new turbo 400 and LT1 let me know.

I own a 1988 GTA. I've had problems with the radiator leaking. It's one of those that has plastic tanks. Had to replace it. I also had problems with the headlight motors. Had to replace all the brake hoses. They all collapsed, went to stailess braided. Of course the headliner fell off. I also replaced all of the hood and hatch lift pistons. I read that the auto latch on the hatch is a problem often, not mine.
