I know someone that had a 69 GTO that got bumped by another car in the mid 70's. He ordered a new rear bumper and trunk lid, but they never got installed and have been in his basement ever since. What do you thinks these parts would be worth?

I would think at least $700. I sell beat up ones for $250 and nice used ones for$400 ad I can't keep them in my yard. that is a rare and high demand piece, don't give it away. Steve www.pontiacheaven.org

If he's selling and you're not the one buying, they're worth a bundle. I'd just guess a lid with NO shelf wear would bring 500 and more to the right person and the bumper should bring well over that if it's factory and has no shelf wear. NOS can mean all different kinds of condition so wear/bumps/dents will bring the price down. 69 parts are a better investment than later parts IMO. I bargain shop and found two usable lids for 50 each. One has surface rust all over and the other has a one factory vent hole in hte bracing that has enlarged a little from rust.

About $20 each plus shipping and I'm willing to bite the bullet and take them off his hands

If you really want to start a feeding frenzy, stick 'em on E-bay. You'll find out in a hurry what they are really worth. I'll bet you'll be pounded by folks wanting you to end the auction...I wouldn't. I know of a set of '69 front fenders being sold for $2500.00, and the guy actually thought he got a bargain. Maybe he did. It seems '69 parts always bring crazy bucks, I suppose the folks doing RA IV Judges and so forth set the pace for pricing. just my opinion, but after doing a '69 ragtop and a '69 Judge, I've learned a little about NOS GM parts. In any eveny, you'd better snatch he parts. Good luck. Ron
