Hello- I have a 1977 GP SJ with the Hurst Hatch T-TOPS. I was wondering if anyone knows how many SJ cars came with T-TOPS. Plaese help me!! Thanks. Also does anyone reproduce weather strip for the t-tops or the entire car?

i've only seen a couple with t-tops, so my guess would be not many were made with them.


re the weather stripping, try metro molded rubber.


they are reproing the seals for 73-7 a bodies and may be doing the g series as well.

HOWDY GPJOE77,MY BOOK SHOWS A TOTAL OF 53,442 77 GRAND PRIXS WERE SJ COUPES,BUT DOES NOT BREAK DOWN T-TOP NUMBERS.MY BOOK ALSO SAYS YOU COULD EVEN ORDER FACTORY CB RADIO.

I agree, I don't think that many were made, I have a 77 LJ with Hurst Hatches. leek like a seive, Metro was going to repro those when I first talked to them about 5 years ago, but I have not seen any info on them.

I had a 76 Golden Anniversary with Hurst Hatch Tops one of 4217. Just parted it out, have 2 good tops for sale, also one brand new glass for left side, still in gm box, no hardware installed let me know if youre intrested

I have cut up two that had the Hurst Hatches.

They are not very common for a high production car.

This is just an update for the Hurst Hatch Seals... I was at Spring Carlisle 2004 and spoke to Metro Molded Rubber. They have decided that there is not enough of a market for these seals for them to justify the tooling expense. They would want $15k and a set of seals to use to make their tooling vefore they would entertain making the seals. On the other hand, Steele Rubber told me that they are either in development or just prior to starting manufacture on the 76-77 Olds Hurst Hatch seals. I have been told that those will work in the GP as well. Just call or mail Steele to be notified when the seals begin production...
