WHAT DO I DO WITH THE WIRE THAT HAVE RUN TO THE COIL IF I SWITCH TO HEI mainly the yellow wire which seams to energize the starter solenoid and can I use the black positive wire to power the HEI system.thks matthew

To switch to HEI you need to run a new positive wire from a full 12 volt source, as the original wire is a resistor wire and only has like 9 volts. I have heard of people using the resistor wire to power a relay to give the hei the full 12 volts. You can just cap off the yellow wire from the starter, you dont need it anymore(it was used to send a full 12 volts to the distributor during cranking).

Somebody mention before that there is a spare switched 12 v position/connector in the fuse box in the 70+ Pontiacs u can use. I would check that out first before wiring in a relay and separate power.
