I swaped a vete for 3 cars (1967 gto, 1967 lemans, 1964 tempest) The 64 tempest is very clean and complete. Is the 64 gto and the tempest pretty much the same car? 1967 gto is complete and running with a 69 400 motor. The car has bondo in the quarters and rust in the trunk. It is an auto on the column. The lemans is in very, very good shape with a 68 or 69 corvette 327 motor. Body has NO rust nor does the floors. It does not have any seats. I picked up another 67 gto (post car) for $1000 that is a rust bucket. All the interior is there and it has an auto on the floor. ( someone told me it is a his/hers shifter) It has a 68 400 motor. the car has been sitting in a ladys garage for the 23 years. Here is my proble: Witch car should I keep? Both gto's need the most work. The lemans is in great shape but not original. The tempest is in the best shape. The guy I got it from said it runs 11's. It has a 69 400 trans am motor. Any idea what would be the best thing to do here? I have never really restored a car. Any suggestions would be a lot of help at this time.

If you are anywhere near NJ, I can help by taking the Tempest off of your hands. I have been looking for one to do a sleeper project. If you are interested in selling, please let me know. I could help you out with some parts for the others if you like.

yea...and you could sell me the 69 400 engine

Personally, I would put my effort into one of the the GTO's. Even though they need work, it sounds like you have a few cars/items that you can sell off to finance the parts. I say this, though because I am big fan of the 67 GTO.

I still want the 69 engine for my Judge, though...

IF it were me, and it's not, I'd sell the LeMans for funds, work on the better GTO, and use the Tempest until the GTO was done.
You might consider putting the interior from the post car into the LeMans.
In '64 the GTO was an option on the Tempest LeMans, so, yes, they have the same metal, but I think the interior is different between the Tempest and the LeMans. And of course there is the matter of the engine and badging.
