I am in the process of trying to mate a '74 400
to a th425 tranny and i am having serious starter issues. This is to go into a 86 Fiero GT. I really want to go with a poncho instead of a chevy but i cant seem to get a starter in there. If i use the cadi, starter it hits the oil pump!!! and if i use a stock pontiac starter it hits the tranny, So i am looking for ideas. Whats the smallest mini starter i can get? or am i going to have to fork out hundreds of dollars for a dry sump!!!!!! Does anyone know of this being done before??? HELP!!!!

I'd suggest doing some research. I use a Mini starter I got from JBP a GRP I think? It's in a stock Firebird. Without knowing what you're dealing with specifically I don't know if it will help. But it's worth a look. I'd start eyeballing mini starters for sure. You have choices out there! And they can be rotated to clear stuff!

Sorry, I don't have any information on what starter to use, but I had to congratulate you on putting a Pontiac engine in your Fiero! Good job!
