I am looking for a set of door panel emblem clips. My 1978 Trans Am came with new door panels when I bought it, but the emblems and clips were missing. I now have new GM emblems, but am not sure how many clips hold the emblem on and am unable to locate a set of these clips through my restoration catalogs. Does anyone know of a supplier who carries the clips?

Don't know what you are referring to as Pontiac never installed any emblems on the doors themselves from the factory on a '78 model T/A.

Let's start out with what type of emblems do you have? Can you post a picture of them?

I think he is talking about the firebird emblem that clips on the door panels, to cover up the hole for manual windows on a power window car.
Sorry I don't know where to find them. I do have a single door panel with the emblem still on it. If I can figure out how to remove the clip, you can have it.

Stupid me. I'm thinking exterior.

Check right here with Performance Years...the clips should come with the emblem...they did when I repalced mine in my 79 more than 5 years ago.

The only clip that came with my new GM emblem was a round clip which holds the bird to the round plastic backing. The clip I'm looking for is sort of a long rectangle looking piece. I have had no luck locating the clips through any of the restoration suppliers.

If the clip you are looking for is roughly 1/2" wide by about 1 1/2 to 2" long black stamped metal clip you might try locating a MotorMite inventory of fastners/repop parts at your local Napa, Pep Boys, or Independent Auto Parts Stores. Some of these odd parts are in the bins that are in the stores but when you ask the counter guys, they don't know they're in their inventory BC they are not usual parts that guys are looking for.

Also try Frank's Pontiac Parts at this link:

Good luck!

Does anyone have a picture of the clip? Mine were all missing, so I have no clue of what the clip looks like. Also, is there only one clip per emblem?

I actually need one for each emblem. I'm going to take the previous suggestion and look at a few Napa and hardware stores for the clips. I'll be back in touch with you if I have no luck. Thanks for the help. BTW, I will send your jack out before this weekend.

I just took 2 quick pics of the clip, before my camera batteries ran out. (that's why it's a little blurry couldn't use high quality mode ) If you can't find any you can have this one.

That clip looks just like the one that holds the "ear muff" on the factory rear speakers and is still available from GM for like $3.
