Anyone use these? Does it make a difference in ride or handling? I'm thinking about doing this on my 70 GTO since I'm doing a frame off resto. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Getsome, you can do a search on your topic on this BB. I have seen your questions addressed a few times in recent months.

I think the consensus has been to use urethane for suspension components (front and rear control arm bushings, etc), but not for the body mounts. Makes the ride too harsh. Others may wish to add more. I am doing a frame off on a '67 GTO and, as a result of what I have read on this board, I decided to go with rubber mounts.

I've never seen the purpose of urethane as a body mount.

Urethane is made NOT to deflect or change shape. Therefore, the absorbancy of urethane is lower than that of rubber. It's a trade off. If you want them to be pretty 30 years from now, get the urethane and suffer the reduced shock absorbtion.

I have poly body bushings and do not think that the ride is too harsh. I'm not sure how 3/4" can make your car ride smoother? New springs and shocks are where the ride comes from. Poly bushings make the car stiffer in cornering and you don't get that rolling/swaying feeling. It is all preference.

I installed the poly body mounts on my '67. Ride is the same as before. What did change is more vibration from the engine is transmitted to the body.

I replaced cab mount bushings in my truck with urethane and am very pleased with the results. The ride was not affected that much and the truck is much tighter handling. Rubber degrades over time and is too soft for my taste.

While the body bushings are ok to change NEVR change your radiator bushings to poly. Unless of course you want to vibrate you radiator into several pieces. Had this happen to a friend after several of us advised against this. His radiator started to leak at the tanks after a few months of daily driving. He put the rubberones back for the radiator. Of course after buying another radiator.

I don't know of any set of poly bushing that would work on the core support that didn't need to be machined. I ordered the set that was to fit 64-67. But when I got the set I noted that all of the pucks had the same diameter stand-off. The core support has a much smaller hole that the shoulder of the puck fits into (7/8" instead of the 1 1/8) that requires to be machined. The thickness of the pucks are correct, but the shoulders are too big to fit in the 7/8" holes. I machined the shoulder down to fit, but after looking at them I opted to use the standard rubber mounts for the support.

Where is the best place to get a full complete set of rubber body bushings and core support bushings WITH hardware?
