I have been trying to purchase a set of down pipes for the 73-74 Trans am's I have the walker part numbers of #47343 & #47344 . Unfortunatly, they appear to be discontinued. I thought I found an replacement made by Arvin, but those seem to suffer the same fate. Any idea's? I want to install them in a 77 catalyst car, so no exhaust shops will thouch it. I have the tails pipes & mufflers, So just needing help on finding the two down pipes.

thanks, 68ragtop

Classic industries has them listed in thier book, but they are no longer are available to order. It looks like the pipes they have are walker part numbers.

thanks for the reply!

Don The Muffler Man in Madison made exact 70-72 T/A(same as 73-74 non-SD455) head pipes for my dad's 78 T/A. There were modeled off the GM pipes my dad bought back in the late 70's and they are a perfect fit.

Sounds great, but can he do it without having a pair of pipes to make them from? I don't have any originals to go off of. Maybe I could give the guy a call?

Thanks, 68ragtop

My dad said the employee saved the specs in the computer on their million $$$ pipe bender so they should be able to pop out plenty more.

That would be great! Do you happen to have the phone number? Or could you private message it to me?

Thanks again, Carl
