I'm putting a 73' 455 block in my TATA, HO heads, performer intake, lots of fun stuff, budget minded. I have a blueprinted RA4 cam in my basement waiting to be used, I haven't decided on a set of lifters yet, but I'm curious, what kind of lope am I looking at now, its a auto with 3.73's. I'm interested in a set of Rhoades, but I do want a bit of a lope, show off in town you know how it is.

Which HO heads 71 or 72? Ditch the performer unless its the RPM. The HO intake will keep up better than the plain Performer. If you have a good exahsut system the round port exhausts often flow good enough to use a single pattern cam.

You'll still have a slight lope at idle when using Rhodes on a R.A. IV cam. I think they would be a great choice for a low compression 455 (ie - 9:1-10:1) with that cam. I've run similar cams (and somewhat larger) in my old combo that still idled lumpy with the Rhodes, but not as lumpy with standard lifters.

I had a similar setup with my old 455.
It had '72 7F6 heads, HO intake, Q-jet. The cam was a custom grind Comp with 237 deg @ .050 and .488" lift, 111 LSA. Basically, the only trick piece in the motor. With stock hyd. lifters, it was a bit "choppy" at 850 idle and pulled 11" of vacuum. 1973 SD455 T/A 1979 S.E. T/A http://community.webshots.com/album/16587603rOyvmFCiHs
