Im switching my 3/8 bottleneck over to 7/16 screw in studs ok, im reading where bbc are the ones i need but i see 2 differant lengths, does it matter?? Are the longer ones for a stud girdles??
How much torque should be used to tightening them up??

I think alot of guys use loctite to make sure they dont come loose on ya. I have 7/16 studs but i forget the length. have a pic of the studs and scorpion rollers here.

On my 670's I used the ARP 100-7101 (1.900") studs with RAIV length valves and Harland Sharp rollers. They fit perfectly. With stock length valves, I think the 134-7103 (1.770") probably would have fit better. I torqued mine to 55ft. lbs with some loctite, but the instuctions said to use moly lube.

Get the standard length, the long ones are used w/stud girdles.
