I purchased a new, correct reproduction set of battery cables for my 1971 400. The negative was connected to the front of the block. The number one cylinder head bolt is supposed to have a threaded stud to connect the negative battery cable to. Mine has a bolt. What is the correct threaded stud and how do you go about replacing it? I removed the bolt, only to get freaked out after realizing what it was. The factory service manual says it requires 95 lb ft so I can re-tighten it but I'm curious as to where I can get the correct bolt and how to go about it.
A VERY stupid question, I know. Thanks in advance. |

Leonard, did you look at all the other bolts and see if they put it elsewhere on the engine.. if so, you could just swap them.
PY and Ames do not list this part, Chris might have one in his Mystery Parts Bin. Other than that, I would suggest calling either Roger (OL' Pinion Head), Ken Keefer (Pontiac Dude), or Jeff and Mark Kaufman at KRE. Any of these fellas should have one laying around. Good luck, -Matt ____________________________________ Much love out to my Peeps
