I would like to know if there is a difference between a 75 and a 77 T/A fender. I need to replace my driver side fender and it seems like the only new repo ones are 77-81. Can I use the 77 fender on my 75.
Thanks Tim [This message was edited by 75newbieTA on March 03, 2004 at 10:43 PM.] |

I am extremely interested in this as well. I have a 76 trans am and its hard to find parts for it. Most repro are 77-81. I am looking for an original fender and I'm wondering what years will interchange.

I'm thinking they are all the same 70-81? My 76 has a pass-side that must have been a replacement. It has the factory holes for the early style spoilers (70-78) and one for the later style spoilers (79-81).

I don't know about the holes for the spoilers but I'm pretty sure the main difference between '74-76 fenders and '77-81's is the sharpness of the crease on top and possibly how it fits with the hood and nose. The earlier cars were a little more round. The later fenders should fit without any real problems and only an expert would really be able to tell. It might be noticable if you have different style fenders on each side (if you're not planning on replacing both).
