Just curious as to what is the difference between the coils with the red & white wires, compared to the red & yellow wired ones.
Seems they list the red & yellow ones for Chevy's and the red & white ones for everything else.
Shouldn't a GM HEI Coil be same whether it's in a CHevy, Pont., Olds, Buick etc..?

The difference is in the polarity of the coil itself. Even though both run on negative ground system.

Wellllll, as long as you match it to the right pickup coil, no. If your just trying to swap between makes, yes. Rule is.....red/yellow wire coils go to yellow plastic connector pickup coil(chevy p/u coil) red/white coils go to p/u coils having either a clear, black, or blue, or no connector. if you mees up that it will be hard to start and basically run like a conventional coil would if hooked up backards. (Yeah, I know I forgot the "w")

THXS..Sun Tuned. Was just curious, because i just picked up a used distributor and it had the red and yellow wires on the coil, did not pay attention to pick up connector, will have to look at that now. Thx again....
