Ok, looking for input. I've got a 73 Formula 400 with an open rear. I'd like to put a posi in it and discs would be nice. Does anybody have an opinion on the strength of the later 70's disc posi's and how they compare to the early 70's 10 and 12 bolts? I know that 70 was a 1 year only deal with the 12 bolt in a firebird, but are they worth the price?

i run a 8.5 10bolt from a 80/81 trans am and drove and raced the heck out of the limited slip carrier for a few years w/ no probs. i did not use the rear discs as my friend wanted the rear calipers for spares for his Indy TA. I have since converted to a spool, but items you could do to increase strength in rear are weld the tubes to the center section and purchase forged axles from Moser.
