I went with poly bushings all around the control arms, but everyone I talked to advised against using poly on the body mounts because you need the softer rubber for sound isolation and vibration damping. Once they are tightened to the specifiec torque, there is not much body to frame movement.

For what its worth.

PST carries a full set of body mounts in polygraphite as a kit and their catalog lists 1967 - 72. Maybe they can help you. Their number is 800-247-2288.

Are you looking to go poly for everything, steering & body? I checked PY's catalog and didn't see anything there. I bought poly steering bushings and body mounts from OPG. I know that Ames Performance also sells them, have you tried either of those?

As of this point no one sells a correct GTO Poly body bushing set. Any advertised are the Chevy set and modification is required in order to adapt to GTO.

What do you mean that nobody sell one for GTO's that the ones out there will have to be modified to work? I just put them on my 64 and I did not have to modify anything. They fit the fine, from what I could see. The bottom pieces' recess fit into the holes without a problem. Please expound as to what needs to be done.

What was the brand and part number? Both Ames and PY has Energy Suspension and their body mount kits are not correct for GTO.

The Body mounts are from a OPG, the brand is Prothane part number 7-221-BL. The catalog states that they are for 64/67 GTO, Tempest, and LeMan. The box states 64-67 GM. I hope this helps.

Jim, Your post says you installed them, then it infers you didn't. Did you successfully install them yet? If they fit well, I will begin stocking them, but we have ALWAYS sold a unique body mount set for GTO owners that is clearly different in size and shape from the Chevelle set.

That's great news. We have been trying to get this info for 2 years. Nobody at Energy Suspension could confirm and we never got anybody to test. Are you sure there were no issues in any of the mounting areas? You installed all 14 mounts?

I have not installed all 14 because I don't have the core support on the car yet, but there are 12 installed and no issues at all. I tried to get some photos, but they didn't turn out well. I took some measurements of the bushings and this is what I got.
Overall Dimension when stacked together: 1.430 or 1 7/16"
Top Bushing Diameter: 1.770 or just over 1 3/4"
Top Bushing Dimension: 1.700 or 1 11/32"
Bottom Bushing Diameter: 1.980 or just under 2"
The Bottom Bushing has an inner ring that is molded slightly more than an 1/8" higher than the bushing and it is 1 3/8" in diameter. The same diameter that the mounting hole on the frame is. In fact you can insert them into hole and they will stay there while you fish the bolt to sart it into the nut.

The kit comes with all the mounts, bushings, and the washers, but no bolts. The car sits great with them installed and there is no more squeaking in the car.

I bought the similar set a couple of years ago for my 65. The body mount ones fit fine but the core support did not. I had them ship me an alternate set for the core support and they did not fit either. I finally ended up buying a stock core support set.

Were you ever able to confirm that these are the correct mount for a GTO? And if so, would they be the right ones for a '66 hardtop?
I am about to (reluctantly) attempt this in the near future and want to make sure I get the right ones before I start this.

We never actually tested them but matched them up with the non poly kit we sell. The body mounts themselves look the same. I believe the core support bushings from the kit will not work as mentioned above. They clearly look different.

I ran into this same deal 18 years ago when doing a frame off resto on a 65 GTO. This was when the regular body mounts were still available from GM for a Chevelle, but not for a GTO.(Of course repo's weren't even heard of then) I remember that what that is being stated is true. All the body mounts are the same, but the core support mounts are different. I just can't remember if I modified the Chevelle core mounts or just reused my old GTO ones there.
