I have a set of heads that I think came off a 1968 ram air 400.
I also have a 1974 pontiac 455 and I was wondering is there any way that I can put these heads on my engine and still run on pump gas? thanks. |

Those pistons were designed specifically for this purpose. Best place to purchase is at www.pacificperformanceracing.com Lee

First 1968 ram air 400 engs. used #31 D-port heads, later they used #R96A O-port heads.

I think the heads have #68 on but I'm not sure, its been a few years since I looked at them. They are just setting in my basement collecting dust. So I thought I would try and get them to work on my 455.
Does anyone know how much horsepower my 455 engine would have if I put these heads on? |

According this chart:
http://www.wallaceracing.com/head.htm the 48's are either RAIII or smaller chamber 350 heads. Either one would be a 69 and not a 68.

I have 48s on my +060 455.
Ross dished pistons are economical.

RML - If you decide to sell the 48's, I would be interested, depending on the date code on them....
