I recently had my original tilt column reworked and a new turn signal switch installed. I painted the column up and re-installed it in the car. The problem is, my flashers are running. The flasher switch doesn't move and I'm not sure how it works, since I have never driven this car, yet (under resto). The knob is the original type. Has anyone encountered a problem like this? And also, does this flasher knob push in and out for (proper operation)? It appears to be stuck in the on position, since my flashers are on when I hook up the battery. Looking in a parts catalog, I think the PY one, It mentions having to use a differnt knob for the new aft. market switch. Could this be the problem. I haven't tried to force it out or in till I know more... afraid I'tll break. Thanks, George

Sounds like a wire is pinched in and/or behind the turn signal plastic assembly. May also be a screw binding the unit. Check the installation inder the wheel. Sometimes the knockout for the ignition cylinder falls in behind the unit jamming it in the on position.
