Pod, The 64 year models GTO's just have never brought quite as much as the 65-67 models. Why, who knows, but its been that way for 20 years. And a GTO convertible of ANY year will should bring MORE than a hardtop or sports coupe (post) of any other year. Convertibles just bring more because the top goes down!

We've all heard it said..."When the top goes down, the price goes up"...

Beautiful '69 tom s.
Every time I see a car close to the color of mine with a painted white top, I want to paint mine white. Problem is, every one I see like that has white interior, which I don't.

I agree with what was said about later cars. Folks are putting more and more into '70-'72 cars, even the non-GTO, i.e. T-37 and GT-37. The quality of these cars was excellent and many that are turning up are still solid drivers, a plus for budget oriented restorations. The early car prices skyrocketing and the cars themselves just plain becoming scarce, what's the alternative? I do my part to keep the kids involved. We let youngsters sit in our cars at shows and even fire up the race car for them. When the parents thank me, I just ask them "How do you think I got started?"

I wonder how Delorean's death will affect GTO prices?

I wish I'd had him autograph our '69 Judge, or at least got a picture of him with it.

ALL depends on the options, color combos & rarities. 12-20K a ram air 4 car add 10-15K
I think its gonna be a long time before these cars go down. I dont think INVESTORS loose money thats why they invest. ITS NOT property anymore its CARs, & its the cars we love & there taking them from us.the PONTIACS still havent met up with the HEMI CUDA or any Shelby MUSTANG, but i feel they will get closer when ALL the GOODS are bought up. Soon the market WILL be left with AFFORDABLE GS's 442's & PONTIACS & they WILL go up.

The prices of our cars are going no where but up, especially convertibles. I have a grand total of $30K into my '68 Convertible GTO--but thats after a complete Frame-off restoration and fully restored #'s matching drivetrain. My car is brand new in and out, even the A/C and 8-track works.

Now where are you going to find a 5 Seater, 350+HP Convertible for $30K??? Not to mention one that looks as cool and grabs attention like our cars--NOWHERE.

Today, for $30K you get a piece of sh*t unibody probably front wheel drive and a V6--Blah...I'd rather drive my pickup truck. The only V8 convertible I can think of the size of our cars is a high line Mercedes Convertible but they are $70K and depreciate $10K each year for 5 years--Not to mention the insurance and taxes.

My take is that rich people want attention, they want to flaunt..right? Don't you think it pisses them off to see us get all the looks in our Goats over what they spent? As rich people demand our cars--just for the prestige and attention the values will go up--especially the convertibles!
