I have installed a tripower on what was formerly a 4-barrel engine. The throttle throw is much farther on the tri-power, consequently, it will not open the throttles completely. Is there a different throttle cable for tri's, or an another solution. Thanks.

On my dads tri-power there is 2 hole that the linkage can fit into and one will give him more 2 barrel but it will not open all the way and the other hole will give less 2 barrel but open the carbs all the way. He has never had to change the thottle cable on any of the cars that he put it on.

Tri-power cable IS different from the 4 barrel cable. Tri-power cable will have three holes at the end that attaches to the carb linkage.

The linkage for the tri power is normally adjusted so that when the center carb is fully open the end carbs are also open completely.

There are a couple of slider slot configurations for the tri-power. One config has a fairly small slot so the end carbs open fairly early and the second design has a longer slot which delays secondary opening and allows more speed on the highway before hitting the end carbs.

If you by chance have an early set of end carbs the bases are made so that the throttles will never open fully. Some of the repop rear carb
levers correct that issue. Good luck Tom V.
