Getting about ready for paint on my 68 restoration. Anybody got any hints on hideaway headlight and grille installation? Can they be installed after paint or is it easier to do before putting the Endura bumper on? The car came in about twenty boxes so I didn't have the benefit of taking it apart. Any info appreciated.

Thanks Mike

Mike,

Your grilles can be installed after installation of the bumper. It's tricky, but can be done. Take your time and install the grille assembly through the bumper. Install the pins into the grommets (bottom) and screws through the top support bracket.

Good Luck,

Just finished reassembling all retractable headlamp components for my 69 after sandblasting and powder coating. And nobody will ever see the stuff. Agree that grills can be installed after bumper mount, however, much easier before. Don't see how retractable headlamp assemblies could be installed after bumper is on car.
