They must of changed the casting a little
but the bell is so thick I wouldn't think twice about taking a die grinder to the starter nose area if needed it's all most 1/2 inch thick it would take alot to weaken it as long as your crack doesn't go past the bell I would cut it off and put the ultra bell on you can cut the bell off the chevy unit your can getting and build it up as a spare just change the bell over when you needed it

does jw make a bellhousing w/ pontiac bolt pattern or will i need to get an adapter plate to mate trans to engine. also, how far back do you cut, i see it mounts to the pump. does anyone have any pics.

it comes with chevy and buick olds pontiac caddy aka bop
patterns so if you ever sell it you can sell to chevy guys too
