any help identifing an engine? It was won in a drag race 25 years ago and I was told it was a 350 from a 73 firebird but it runs to strong to be 7.6 compression. its marked WD and 861944 on the front left of the block and f293 in back by the distrib. any help would be great.

I can't help you with anything but the date. The block was cast June 29, 1973.

According to www.wallaceracing.com, the WD is a 150hp w/single exhaust and 175hp w/ dual exhaust in 1973.
