JUST PICKED UP A 73-400 TO PUT IN MY FRIENDS NEW 69-GTO PROJECT WHATS DIFFERENT ABOUT THE BLOCK/MOTOR MOUNTS? AND WHAT WILL I NEED TO BOLT IT IN?

the 73 should bolt right in with the 69's mount set up. the 73 may or may not have the end bolt holes in the manifolds for the exhaust. i've seen that year both ways it depends on what heads were used. mike

I think the water pump is also different, you might need the water pump pully from the 73.
At leat I know 68 & 70 are different. Must have changed the design in 69, or 70 [ June 14, 2002, 09:37 PM: Message edited by: 68ragtop ]

You should have no problem putting the 73 in this car. 73 has 5 motor mount holes, just use the 2 holes with the 69 motor mounts. You can also use all 69 brackets and pulleys on this engine ,if you want to make it look more like a 69. If you want to get rid of egr intake, use 72 cast intake or aftermarket alum. intake. I put a 74 455 in a 69 FB and it looked great when I was finished. if you have any problems, just let me know. [email protected]
