Any one know what the maximum amount a set of 68 #16 heads can be milled, before the intake side has to be milled also?
I've heard conflicting answers to this.
One side say's anything more then .015 the intake face needs cut.
Another say's .030 or more will need this.
I'd like to have about .025 taken off my heads, but don't really want to hassle with having the intake side messed with

Marty, I run a set of '71 455 HO heads on my bracket car that have been milled .025". I have done several intake swaps ('71 HO, '69 iron, Torker II) and all of them fit perfectly with no milling of the intake manifold or on the intake side of the head. I think the 'magic number' is .030" before any milling of the intake side is needed. [img]/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif[/img]

You can cut up to .030 before the intake needs to be milled. Done it a millon times.
