What is the minimal allowable clearance between the inside of the rear quarter and the rear tire? I want to put a set of mags on my 66 wagon. Original rims left 1.5 inches between rubber and steel, mags leave only 0.5 inch. Dare I try or am I going to screw up my quarters?

Keith, I just went and measured my 64 Lemans with P275-60-R15 on Crager mags, I have 3/4 inch between the outside of the tire and the inside lip of the fender. I've never touched.1/2 inch is a little close but if you own the mags you could give it a try. If you dont have them I wouldn't buy them. Merlin
