I've got a 72 Formula... had it since high school (1985) and just want a great sounding header back system to complement my 420hp 400cid. Some say the Pypes Crossflow others say dual muffler set up... 2.5" or 3" system?
Would appreciate your thoughts and comments... V/R, Ty

Well, my thoughts are as follows: Buy the Pypes 2 1/2" X-Pipe Header-Back System. You have several choices as to mufflers. The Pypes systems are the best; best warranty, best fit, and best value. They are also dual systems.
If I had it do do again, I would also purchase the X-change with the system. I regret not spending the extra few bucks in the first place. I have no interest in the company, only that I am very impressed with the quality of the systems, and the professional treatment I received when I ordered the two systems I recently purchased. I will buy four more systems for our four Pontiacs this year. Jim

Bart, thanks for the recommendation...
I called Pypes yesterday and talked with Brian about my wants... He was very helpful and was willing and able to explain his choices for my car. He recommended the SGF-11 dual muffler x-pipe 2.5" system with their "Street Pro" mufflers (and gave me a discount from their advertised internet pricing!) He recommended the 2.5" system vs a 3" system b/c my car will be under 450-475hp and went with their "Street Pro" muffler for the same reason. Great customer service!!! For comparison I called a couple of local muffler shops also: 2.5" duals, Flowmasters or Magnaflows, H-pipe, over the axle out the back with the Pontiac "hockey stick" tips... The first shop started out at $450 with Turbo mufflers, add $50 for the H-pipe, add $100 for the tips, add $150 for Magnaflow or Flowmasters! So $750!! The second shop said $550 for Magnaflows with the H-pipe but I'd have to add the cost of the tips... so $650!!!
