I know of a 70 gto body complete with hood and partial interior, its original colors are gold on gold. Its a four speed car with a 400/auto that doesnt run and the body has zero rust but was driven by brail on the driver quarter-other than that its straight. It has no ps/pb and has drum brakes,it sold for 2,000 wich I thought was reasonable, hope that helps.

2K sounds pretty good for a rust free project, yours is a little worse off, but also remeber these cars are getting pretty scarce and are worth a decent buck when done right.

I just purchased on EBay a 70 with no rust but faded paint, interior needs complete replacement, engine has only 5000 miles since last rebuild but got some rain water in a cylinder so it needs to be gone through, but basically the car is in pieces..the guy took it apart and started collecting parts to finish it but changed his mind..it is a 455 a/c auto p/s p/b car, I paid 3600.00 for it, plus another grand to have it shipped.. as blkcrow said it's getting pretty hard to find these cars that aren't already completely rusted out or need major body work, so in my opinion if you can get the one you are looking at for under 3k or so without the engine get it..you can get a complete 450 hp engine for around 6k..the prices are just going higher and higher and even if you didn't fix it you wouldn't lose any money cause in a year or so you could sell it for the same or more money..just my 2cents...

the common, smart alec answer to this is, whatever youre willing to pay.

it is however, interesting to see what others have paid, in comparason to what i paid for a 70 rolling chassis in 1993.

four hundred bucks for a complete car less engine and trans.

it was far from "solid" though. had a lot of bodywork done about 5 years prior, not very well i might add.

funniest part was after hitting the trunk floor with a blaster, at night you saw the milky way, and i dont mean the candy bar.

last year I paid 2500 for a complete #'s match gTo needing Complete restoration. Just paid 1600 for a 1968 camaro rolling chassis that needs bead blasted and straightened. Just saw a 1968 ss chevelle rolling chassis at a swap meet in CALIFORNIA for 2500. I don't think it sold though. I got real lucky on my GTO.
