Just wanted to see who is going to make it to the NSCA race at Cecil County Dragway on June11-12?

I'll be there racing, maybe we can pit all together?

Jack...I plan to be there running with the MidWest Nostalgia Super Stockers. I will be traveling with my MOPAR bud Charlie Fishback. He runs a 64 Dodge "Bounty Hunter" clone car.
Don't know where we will pit but the tracks generally reserve a spot for the NSS group to pit. Come on over !!!We have a motel so won't be camping though..
I would love to see a bunch of Ponchos' there but OPDS race at M/D is that Sunday !!!

If the doctor hasn't decided to cut on my back by then, I'll have to come up to provide some moral support.

Still waiting on Jack to spray his new tuneup.

Jack - Don and I are planning on being there for Saturday qualifying. Don't know if I will race w/OPDS or NSCA for Sunday yet.

Mike,
How strict are they on tech item(s) for first time racer? I don't have my inner fenders back in yet or the back seat area (X braced) covered w/carpet. Work load is very heavy the next few weeks, so time in the shop is going to be very limited.

Thanks,
Herb

Herb- they give one race waivers for some items but not sure if they will for that many. Could ask over on the NSCA board. Jack- what class did you decide on?

Herb,

When I ran N/MC (A/M) a few years ago, a few times they never asked me to open the hood. I had a few thing that were questionable, but tech seemed more lax than strick. As a matter of fact, a friend ran his car that was not close to the class he wanted to run, but they let him run as a one time only deal. Not sure how it is now, but I'm sure Mike has better insight as he stated above.

Thanks guy's,
I am going to try my best to get the inner fenders back in, but it will be time consuming due to the installation of front J bars, which is why they were removed in the first place. If I can get them trimmed/fitted back in, I don't think the missing covering of the back seat panel will be an issue.

Herb

Herb, if you have the battery in the trunk and it's not in a sealed and vented (to the outside) box...or if you have a fuel cell in the trunk...NHRA rules require you to have a rear firewall between trunk and driver compartment...so not having any cover over that divider is going to throw up a red flag for the tech inspector regardless of what track you run at.

Herb- they will probably overlook the carpet part but the fenderwells are pretty much a must in every class. The payouts are good esp when you add the contingency money in.

Brian- I have a tech legal rear firewall, but the NSCA class (American Muscle) rules require it to be covered with carpet or material when no rear seat is installed. I can't get a rear seat back in due to the X brace, so it must be covered. I don't believe that is going to be an issue for first time race waiver for minor tech item, but the inner fenders are definately borderline and I don't want to get turned away due to them.

Hope your back is feeling better and you can make it up to Cecil or Mason-Dixon soon.

Thanks again guy's,
Herb

Doh! I misunderstood. I don't think they'll nail you for not having it covered.

Bill Weyrich and I are talking about coming up. OPDS has a race at M-D on that Sunday, so we may only be up for Saturday. If I had my druthers, I'd come up for both days and camp out at a local hotel.
