In my front disc conversion kit for my 68 Firebird from Inline Tube, there are 2 copper washers twist tied to each of the calipers. What are these for?

It is the bolt that goes through the brass fitting on teh end of the brake hose that connects to the caliper.

The mating surface of the brake hose is grooved and once the washers/bolt are torqued down it compresses the copper and makes the grooves in the copper sealing the brake fitting.

I believe one goes on either side of the brake line fitting. I am sure someone else can verify this

One washer seals to bolt head to the fitting, the second seals the fitting to the caliper.
