I am going to re-paint my '91 Firebird. I want to strip the bumper covers and need some advice on the best method without damaging the plastic. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Rob--

How about some of our resident body & paint professionals weight in on this topic?

I am also preparing to refinish my 78 T/A and need advice on refinishing the plastic front & rear end covers. They have several coats of urethane (same color) from previous paint jobs.
The most recent 12 years ago. The existing paint is cracked in places from apparently flexing.
What's the best way to get rid of the cracks and properly refinish to avoid this moving forward?

For what it's worth, I was able to successfully strip the paint from the lower valance, header panel, and trunk spoilers on my '74 TA using paint stripper with no damage to the plastic. However, i ruined my front corner spoilers. Apparently, they are made of a diiferent type plastic and the stripper basically melted them. 'Bout a $225 dollar mistake!

I had my whole car media blasted with great results. Even the endura nose and all of the bolt on spoilers were blasted with plastic media.
