I just had the same situation! I just kept calling around to junkyards in Colorado to see if they had a 67 GTO or Lemans convertible frame.
I was able to locate a Lemans frame. (same number) I know that if I didn't find that one there was a guy in Arizona that had one. Just FYI--a 66 frame has different rear coil spring mounting areas than a 67 frame. Also, many people will tell you that a 67 Chevelle/Cutlass/Skylark convertible frame is the same, but trust me it's not. If you want that info on the frame in AZ let me know and I'll see if I can find it again. I did a ton of searching online nationally for junkyards. I still have my front clip for my original frame at the house and in great shape. I'm guessing that the middle boxed sections between the front and rear clips were cancerous? Best of Luck, Dan |

Thanks Dan. Do you still have the info from AZ? My frame had cancer around the body mounting holes. Plus the side rails are a little thin. I appreciate the help.

I'll tell you what, if you can figure away to pick up the frame from AZ, I will give you a smoking deal on a non boxed frame if you want to box it yourself.

I have looked everywhere I can think of for that information on the frame in AZ. I can't seem to find the page I wrote it down on. I must have trashed it after I found the frame here in Colorado.
The only thing I can tell you is that I did a lot of searching on the internet nad I made a ton of long distance phone calls. During one of those calls a guy referred me to several junk yards in the Phoenix area and told me that they carry a lot of classic parts. Just check online for Phoenix junkyards. If I can locate the original info I will certainly let you know. Another possibility would be a guy in Casper, Wy and I think his website is garysgtogoodies.com. He has a lot of Pontiac parts. You may also try Frank's Pontiac Parts (760-789-0669) in Ramona, CA. Also, Percy's Pontiac Parts might be good. I never tried them. Just some good advice, stay with a 67 GTO/Lemans convertible frame. I paid $750 for mine which was about average. That included them removing the frame from the body. |

dkitko67gto,
After further review I remembered that I puchased my frame in September 2002 and that I made all my long distance phone calls on my cell phone when I was looking for the frame. I found three numbers that I called in the Phoenix Area while loking for the frame, one of which might be the one with the GTO frame. The numbers are: 623-486-9093 623-247-4061 480-539-0240 If these guys don't have the frame make sure you ask them if they know of anybody in their area who might have one. That's how I located mine! Also tell them that your calling from out of state. |

Thanks Dan I'll give them a call. I'll let you know how I made out. How good was the frame you found? Rust free?

I was very pleased with the frame! It wasn't rust free but in excellent condition. The only thing I have to do is weld on the bell crank frame mount. I have completely restored it otherwise and it is a semi-gloss black rolling chassis. Couldn't be happier! Let me know what you find.
