i have read high performance pontiac for about a year now, i usually buy it from the store. but i got sick of doing that so i prescribed to it and have yet to see an issue i did that in december. when my brother perscribed to car craft it took no time

Of course I read it,so your asking how long it took for the first issue to show up?

Call their subscription office and inquire,they might have screwed up or something.I have'nt subscribed for a while as funds have been tight.I'll check em out on the stand and if it has some stuff I want to read and I have a couple spare bucks I'll pick it up.

But when I did they usually took a couple months to catch up,then like 2-3 issues would show up in a week to cover the time elapsed in the interim.

It took about two Months before I got my first copy. But then I got another the very next week.

HPP would be a LOT more interesting if they'd ****can every bit of Chevy Smallblock/GM LS series engine stuff, and write about PONTIAC engines.

We've all done that,and I almost always get a called on it when I do so I just figured I'd pass the torch as they say.Its all the better when its close to what is meant,just easy pickings for a pun or two.At least I got the point of the question,thats more than can be said for some folks here! Nick, ive read it about 4 yrs now, love the mag. except on some of the so called corper. cars.??? wish though they would bring back cars for sale along with parts?? Really don,t know why it stopped.

67, I miss the want ads too. I bet they took it out because there wasn't enough revenue in it. If they can't get enough column inches of classified advertising, then it would be a better business decision to drop the section and save money on printing the extra pages. For a magazine format, they can only add or cut 8 pages at a time. So, if they only get 2 pages worth of ads, for example, and filling 6 with stories or in-house ads they're losing ground.

I posted to this thread a while ago, but I used a naughty word and apparently the administrators decided to delete the post.

HPP would be a lot more interisting if they actually wrote about PONTIAC engines instead of Chevy Small blocks and the Corporate LS-engine.

I won a subscription to HPP, and never got a single copy. (Some kind of survey scam, I guess.) The problem is, I don't really care because the PONTIAC content isn't there.

I subscribe to HPP, I have since 1987 or so. It has come a long way since then. It started out as "Thunder Am" in the early eighties. I remember when it was only 6 issues per year, you got an issue every other month. Only recently did they go to monthly issues. I also remember when they had a new editor every other month, it seemed like every other month, anyway...

Thomas DeMauro, the current editor, has been on board for a long time, and I hope he stays on board for even longer. He must be a hard core Pontiac guy, (like me) since he didnt ditch the Magazine for CC and HR like all the other editors did.

I disagree on Pontiac content, as they had exactly what I needed when I returned to the hobby in 2000.

I was looking for classic driveline info in order to build a strong street/touring/strip combo and didn't recall head/block/crank combos. Most importantly, I needed to know how hard and fast you could run with reworked stock parts vs offshore hard parts. HPP's Shootout articles thru the years with their detailed spec charts and tuning logs are unique among all car rags in my experience and were just what I was looking for.

HPP did a "shootout" @ LACR in Palmdale featuring Pontiac Drag Days competitors in the longest running Pontiac racing series. Look for these cars/specs/pics to be featured later this year and into 2006.

Ls-1 articles are apparently necessary to broaden the reader base and to pay the rent, and I find some of the best how-to "A" body articles in Chebby High Performance.

Time to confess, I receive close to 10 automotive mags each month and I find something of interest in all of them

I just started getting the rag and love it. I too like the shootout articles. Like the one featuring a 1966 GTO. Aqua in color, a touring/drag combo. Beautiful car with a lot of info.

What did you think of that car Les?

I ordered a subscription I got my first free magazine,never got another one.Calls their business office after getting the phone number asking why I haven't gotten a bill to pay it and the next magazine never came.

I emailed the customer service dept. at HPP and they were right on it. I'd try that.

Besides the Pontiac Mags, HPP, Pontiac Enthusiast (although it is time for the Pontiac Enthusiast to act like a Pontiac magizine with something for us Real Pontiac people that is useful instead of the holden crap) I get Circle Track, and also checkout the same chevy mag for some really good A BODY and even Fbody chassis tips. They did a car about two years ago that had alot of valueable info on my buddies Tempest underpinnings. Ever seen a 69 Custom S corner with a new Vette? The vette owner wasn't happy! The HPP drag series as far as I am concern was one of the best ever.
