Hi guys. Hoping to get some help with my tach. When I bought the car the needle was pegged at 60. Removed tach and circuit board this weekend and cleaned all contact points. Now needle sits around 5 hundred when off and moves to zero while starting and stays there. Something I'm missing or do I need new tach? Thanks for the help....Scott

Make sure the lead wire is hooked into the distributor. I know it seems trivial, but just incase. 6k tachs are pretty inexpensive. If the wire is hooked up, it is probably your tach. Also, make sure the wire is on the correct side of the coil (HEI or Points).

I guess it was trivial enough to overlook. The wire was missing...shame on me...thanks for the help......Scott
