I've used it on my frame, firewall, fender wells, and some brackets. Looks excellent so far. Not sure the durability, but according to what I have read, should stand up against POR15. Havent used POR though. The only thing I didnt like were the shipping charges, they were a little high.

Used it on my control arms, crossmember & frame during my front end rebuild & very happy with the result. A lot easier to patch areas that get scratched or damaged than POR15. Remember to topcoat with a UV blocker - I used their "Crystal Coat" brand - to prevent fading.
Agree that shipping cost seemed excessive - wish they had some East Coast distributors. http://kurtspontiac.homestead.com/TimSimpson66GTO.html |

I've used 7 spraycans on the 68GTO project. Ready to order 10more.
Applies very well. Dried satin. Seems to chemically bond well to metal and rusted metal. Seems to have poor adhesion on painted stuff. Overall, probably better than a paint, since paint will dry&peel after many years. This stuff doesn't seem to be able to peel. I'm looking at the z-rust product, does it need to be topcoated like the por??? Z or P i'm planning to use it on the frame, top and bottom floor and trunk pans, firewall....I like the fact that the zero rust is easily repaired, and requires less in the way of prep (although i'm media blasting the whole car). One ? in particular, what have y'all done in the trunk??? Have you shot it with the "crystal clear" or the por topcoat then spatter paint and clear, or spatter then clear??
thanks "mean" |

Mean,
I've just finished my trunk. I used the black with aqua splatter, but I put down black primer first. It really helped with how much splatter I had to put down to cover. I then cleared. I think it turned out pretty well. A closed mouth gathers no feet.

What kind of prep does that zero rust need? I know the POR15 needs to be surgically clean to go on there. Thanks!

The por works well also, but like stated earlier, the cleaner the better the results. When they say that it will take a pounding they aren't kidding.

goetboy, that trunk looks good. Is that splatter something that you add to the paint coat while wet or is it an additional paint coat?
